The legendary Air Jordan 1 High '85 "Bred," known for its classic black and red color scheme, is set to make a nostalgic comeback in February 2025, celebrating the model's 40th anniversary.
This iteration has a rich history, having been originally released in 1985, which marked Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker with Nike. The “Bred” colorway swiftly became a symbol of rebellion and style, famously banned by the NBA for violating uniform regulations. With its return, sneaker enthusiasts can look forward to an authentic revival, as the retro release is set to preserve the original color blocking and closely resemble the cherished 1985 version.
The upcoming release features the classic colors of Black, Varsity Red, and White. It showcases the ’85 build, standing taller than its Retro High OG counterpart, and includes a larger, sleeker Swoosh. Made from premium leather, it has a Black base embellished with Varsity Red accents, set on a durable rubber outsole. A White midsole enhances the OG appearance. Each pair is accompanied by extra laces, a hangtag, and original packaging.
